Congressman Takes Daughters To West Wing, Remembers His Childhood Tour

New York Republican congressman Lee Zeldin took his family on a tour of the West Wing on Thursday night, embracing the nostalgia of when he first experienced it as a kid in 1986.

“Last night, I took three VIPs to the West Wing for a tour of history, where Presidents have tackled some of the greatest challenges facing our republic,” he tweeted Friday, sharing a photo of him with his wife and two daughters next to one of him as a child. “It was cool to experience this visit for the 1st time as a parent after experiencing it for the 1st time as a kid decades ago.”

Responding to CNN’s Jake Tapper, who asked when the older photo was taken, Zeldin tweeted: “1986. It’s such a special place, from Teddy’s Nobel Peace Prize and Medal of Honor, to JFK Jr crawling out of the Resolute Desk and so many other great American memories!”
