Bannon Hopes Trump Will Be ‘Jacked’ Over His New Film, ‘Trump @ War’

Steve Bannon’s new film, “Trump @ War,” will debut with the intention of encouraging Republicans to vote in the midterm elections — and re-establishing his own relevance, Axios reported Thursday.

It will premiere Sept. 9, the second anniversary of Hillary Clinton’s remark that “you could put half of Trump’s supporters into what I call the basket of deplorables.”

Bannon, President Trump’s former campaign chief executive and White House chief strategist, portrays Trump as a hero in the 75-minute film, according to Axios. It features interviews with his most visible supporters, including onetime Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski, former White House strategist Sebastian Gorka, Fox News commentator Pete Hegseth.

The film shows Trump under siege, with clips of hooded antifa members and Democrats chanting about impeachment and burning MAGA hats.

“How jacked do we think Trump will be when he sees this?” he asked Axios. “If you’re a deplorable, you’ll literally [be] standing on your chair with your pitchfork saying: ‘I’ve got to get people out to vote.’”

While he riles up the Republicans, acknowledging the midterms as Trump’s “first re-elect,” Bannon is also rolling out a new grassroots group, Citizens of the American Republic. It aims to fuel the “populist-nationalist movement” that put Trump into office, according to Axios.
