Sheldon Adelson Drops Millions More To Ensure A Republican Majority

Casino mogul Sheldon Adelson is giving millions more to Republican committees to ensure the party wins control of the House and Senate in the upcoming midterm elections, Politico reported.

The Jewish billionaire donated to two GOP super PACs connected to congressional Republicans, Senate Leadership Fund and Congressional Leadership Fund, according to two people familiar with the donation. The contributions will be made public by Oct. 15.

Adelson and his wife, Miriam, were named last month by the New York Times as the “biggest spenders on federal elections in all of American politics,” citing publicly available campaign finance data. It looked like they would be outspent this year by former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg — who donated $100 million to Democrats, while the couple gave $55 million — but this new advancement could put them back on top.
