Ilhan Omar Spokesman: Anti-Semitism Is A ‘Right-Wing Force’
A spokesman for Representative Ilhan Omar tweeted that anti-Semitism is a “right-wing force,” in response to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s comments at the American Israel Public Affairs Committee this week.
Jeremy Slevin, a spokesman for the Minnesota congresswoman, was criticized Wednesday after he wrote “Anti-semitism is a right-wing force” eight times on Twitter.

Many argued that Slevin was erasing Omar’s previous comments, which were viewed as anti-Semitic.
Slevin clarified that he “was referring to the United Stated (which I should have made clear).” In response to accusations that he himself is an anti-Semite, he shared his Jewish history on the social media platform.

With an ongoing war, rising antisemitism, and a flood of disinformation that may affect the upcoming election, we believe that free and open access to Jewish journalism is imperative.
Readers like you make it all possible. Right now, we’re in the middle of our Passover Pledge Drive and we still need 300 people to step up and make a gift to sustain our trustworthy, independent journalism.
