WH staff couldn’t reach Trump on golf outing to get him to delete ‘White Power’ retweet

White House officials could not reach President Trump to tell him to delete a retweet that featured a video of a Trump supporter saying “White Power” because he did not have his phone at his golf club, NBC News reported.
The post was up for more than three hours because Trump put his phone down at Trump National Golf Club in Virginia, according to NBC. Staffers were also unable to reach Deputy Chief of Staff Dan Scavino.
Trump did manage to tweet again at least twice in that period, once at 8:07 a.m. and once at 8:22 a.m.
The NBC story seemed to suggest that Trump came across the original tweet after an an aide or ally sent it to him — one official said the incident was “a lesson to all of us in the White House to be more aware of what’s out there.”
Trump agreed to delete the retweet after being reached by his staff.
