Long Islanders have Adam Sandler to thank for IHOP’s all-you-can-drink milkshakes today

It’s “Milkshake Monday” at Long Island’s IHOPs, and it seems that Jewish comedian Adam Sandler is responsible for the endless supply of the decadent drink .
Last week, a Tik Tok video went viral showing an exchange between Sandler and a hostess at the International House of Pancakes’ Manhasset, Long Island location.

The video shows Sandler politely leaving the restaurant after the hostess informed him it would be a 30-minute wait until he could be seated.
However, in response to the video’s popularity, Sandler jokingly tweeted that he had an alternative reason for walking out of the restaurant.
For the record, I only left the IHOP because the nice woman told me the all-you-can-eat deal didn’t apply to the milkshakes.

IHOP has clapped back with their Milkshake Monday promotion, offering all-you-can-drink milkshakes for $6.49 at any of the chain’s Long Island locations.

IHOPs Chief Managing Officer, Kieran Donahue said in a statement the decision was part of their commitment to “IHOSPITALITY.” In addition, they will be donating up to $50,000 from milkshake purchases elsewhere in the country to Comedy Gives Back, a charity to help comedians struggling with lost income due to the pandemic.
“We are thrilled to celebrate ‘Milkshake Monday’ at IHOP in the spirit of a cheeky smile for a good cause,” said Amber J. Lawson, CEO of Comedy Gives Back. “A delicious meal of pancakes and milkshakes can make you happy any time of day, and while we could all use a laugh right about now, some could use a lot more. A handful of comedians are household names, but the majority are not; we are grateful for IHOP’s support to help working comedians stay afloat in this challenging time.”
