An Entire Meal Composed Of Hamantaschen? Sign Us Up!
Everyone likes hamantaschen, but could you consume a holiday meal composed solely of these tasty, somewhat historically inaccurate treats?
That is the challenge I took from Breads Bakery’s Purim offerings this year. The raw material was certainly there, from their savory offerings to their sweet to their ultra-sweet. A three-course hamantasch dinner was surely a possibility. Nay, more than a possibility, a strong likelihood.
Here’s how.
First, open with an appetizer. Think savory: Think potato and onion sesame encrusted triangular delights.
Then graduate to the main course: Pizza hamantaschen, those flavorful morsels that remind one of their fancy-free childhoods, followed by a pistachio cherry hamantasch, made resplendent by the colorful jam that fairly oozes out of its dough covering.
For dessert, choose among poppy seed, chocolate and apricot hamantaschen. Or why select? It’s Purim, a festive time of year! Why not feast on all three? hamantaschen. Note the way they stand proudly at attention. Note the tender loving care. If you aren’t clutching your stomach in mortal agony yet, feel free to examine these each hamantasch has clearly been shaped with. Let your eyes rest on the triangles, taking in their glory.
Hsve you ever seen anything so beautiful in all your life? No. No, you have not, and unless you head to Breads Bakery to pick up some more, you probably never will again.
Bon appetit!
