A Webby Honoree
The Forward’s Web site was recently selected as an official honoree in the 11th annual Webby Awards, the Internet’s most respected symbol of success.
Only seven sites were afforded official honoree status in the newspaper competition. An additional five nominees were named finalists, making www.forward.com one of the top 12 finishers. The selections were made based on six criteria: content, structure and navigation, visual design, functionality, interactivity and the overall experience of using the site.
“Our goal has been to create a site that maintains the integrity and depth of America’s most influential Jewish newsweekly, while using the potential of the Web to expand our coverage and bring readers more timely news,” said Ami Eden, editor of Forward.com and executive editor of the Forward newspaper.
“It is a great honor for the site to be named an official honoree of the Webby Awards,” said David Drimer, the Forward Association’s associate publisher. “Recognition of this caliber draws even more traffic to the site and highlights the level of quality and standards being set for advertisers.”
The Shmooze sends a mazel tov to the entire Forward staff, with extra-special kudos to Web master Aram David, deputy Web editor Daniel Treiman and marketing director Mark Kamen.

Now more than ever, American Jews need independent news they can trust, with reporting driven by truth, not ideology. We serve you, not any ideological agenda.
At a time when other newsrooms are closing or cutting back, the Forward has removed its paywall and invested additional resources to report on the ground from Israel and around the U.S. on the impact of the war, rising antisemitism and the protests on college campuses.
