Fun Fact:

The site where Villanova University Law School now stands was known as “Mount Misery” because the heavy woods looked so foreboding.

Why should Jewish students attend Villanova University? I think that a lot of Jewish students fear attending Villanova because it is a Catholic university, but I think that this is actually a great opportunity for Jewish students. Because there is a small, but mighty, population of Jewish students on campus, it gives every single Jewish student the ability to create an image of Jewish people and educate so many other students about our background and our faith. Although the Jewish presence is relatively small on campus, we have a strong backing from the staff and from one another. We offer so many professional and social opportunities, so I think that Villanova University is a great place for a Jewish student to start their academic career. — Daniel Markel, president, Villanova Hillel
