33 Universities With Great Jewish Scholarships

As the cost of attending college continues to increase faster than inflation, the question of how to afford four years of university weighs heavily on students and parents.
Many organizations offer scholarships and essay contests that can provide a bit of help in paying for tuition and textbooks. Some of them can be quite specific, tailored toward students who appreciate knitting or the philosophy of Ayn Rand. Many scholarships are available for members of the Jewish community, often offered by local Jewish federations and their affiliated institutions.
Jewish studies departments at universities also often offer scholarships for students majoring in that field — which can sometimes be quite substantial.
But only some colleges — and their boosters — value having a thriving Jewish population on their campus enough to offer scholarships to students who have a Jewish background and plan to focus on more common disciplines. Or don’t even know yet what they want to major in.
