Yisroel Wilhelm
Rabbi Wilhelm is my biggest inspiration, role model and friend. He is the best example I know of on how to be a compassionate leader. Over the past 11 years, he has been the co-director of the Rohr Chabad House at the University of Colorado along with his wife, Leah. Yisroel and Leah are equal partners is this endeavor on campus. I always say that they are not your standard “religious” couple, as they are proactive in working with students and running their house/family as equal partners. Rabbi Wilhelm has a huge influence as a rabbi in this community as well. He is the only rabbi that works with the University of Colorado as a full time job. He is available 24/7 to anyone who needs his help. This ranges from religious questions to counseling student with drug/alcohol problems. He does not ever turn away students, and he is open with everyone. Students with many different backgrounds, identities and beliefs seeks his counsel. He accepts everyone and helps them when others will not. He is an amazing man, leader, father, friend and rabbi.
