9/11 Conspiracy Theorist Alex Jones Gets Thank You Call From Donald Trump

Alex Jones, a radio host and conspiracy theorist, says he got a call from Donald Trump thanking him for his support during the election.

Jones is the host of Infowars, a popular show among the right fringe of the conservative moment. Over the last year, Trump has aggressively courted this vote, appearing on Fox’s Sean Hannity and making Breitbart CEO, Steve Bannon, a part of his campaign.

A year ago, Trump did a 30-minute interview with Jones.

Jones became known for his outlandish conspiracy theories, among them the government’s role in carrying out 9/11. He also accused the Obama administration of orchestrating the Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre of 22 schoolchildren in Connecticut in 2012.

During the 2016 campaign, Jones called Hillary Clinton, among other things, “an abject psychopathic demon from hell.”

Now, Jones says that Trump personally called to thank him over the weekend. In a video posted on his website, Jones recalled the conversation with Trump.

“He said, listen Alex, I just talked to kings and queens of the world, world leaders, you name it, […] but I wanted to talk to you to thank your audience and I’ll be on in the next few weeks to thank them,” Jones said.

“I want to thank your viewers, thank your listeners for standing up for this republic, we know what you did early on, throughout this campaign, standing up for what’s right,” Jones recounted.

Trump’s team did not respond to comment by news organizations like Politico.
