59% of New York Jews Have Unfavorable View of Donald Trump

Most Jewish New Yorkers have an unfavorable view of Donald Trump, and nearly half are “very pessimistic” about the country’s future during the Trump presidency, according to a new poll released by Siena College today.
The college, which questioned 800 registered voters in New York state, nearly 90 of whom were Jewish, found that New Yorkers in general are sharply divided over Trump in a very partisan way.
“Republicans are ecstatic,” said Siena’s Steven Greenberg, who conducted the poll, in a statement. “At least 80 percent view Trump favorably, are optimistic about the next four years and think he will be good for New Yorkers. Democrats, not so much.”
The poll found that 59% of New York Jews had an unfavorable opinion of Trump, compared with 53% of New Yorkers overall.
And 42% of New York Jews said that they were “very pessimistic” about the country’s future under Trump, compared with 32% of New Yorkers.
