The crowd filled the 1,200 seat sanctuary of Congregation Beth Elohim.
Outside, the line ran down the street.
Rabbi Rachel Timoner, spiritual leader of Beth Elohim, addressed the crowd.
New York City Council member Brad Lander, organizer of the meeting, also spoke.
