Trump Weighs In Against Jon Ossoff In Last-Minute Tweet

A day before voters in Georgia’s 6th Congressional District go to the polls in the most expensive House race in history, President Trump turned to Twitter in a last-minute push to attack Democrat Jon Ossoff.

“The Dems want to stop tax cuts, good healthcare and Border Security. Their ObamaCare is dead with 100% increases in P’s. Vote now for Karen H,” Trump tweeted Monday morning, making clear that the vote in Georgia’s special election is also a referendum on the policies he is trying to advance as president.

Polls show a tight race between Republican candidate Karen Handel and Ossoff with a slight lead for the Democrat. The party hopes that Ossoff succeeds in flipping the seat vacated by Republican Tom Price, who became Trump’s secretary of Health and Human Services, and usher in a Democratic wave in preparation for the 2018 midterm elections.
