The Forward Association oversees the publication of two well-known Jewish newspapers, the English-language Jewish Daily Forward and the Yiddish-language Forverts. Founded in 1897, the Forverts helped generations of Jewish immigrants adjust to life in America and today is the last remaining secular Yiddish newspaper, with a print, radio and web presence. The award-winning English-language version publishes a weekly print edition and a daily web edition, and is a leading source of news and progressive commentary about American Jewish life.

The publisher and CEO of the Forward, Rachel Fishman-Feddersen has been an innovator in digital media since the earliest days of Silicon Valley. She has worked with audiences of many millions, as Chief Content Officer of Patch, with its 900 sites across the country; Digital GM at MentalFloss.com and TheWeek.com, thought-leading brands for millennials and global citizens; and editor-in-chief of Parenting.com. She’s won numerous awards for digital achievement from the MPA, Webby Awards, and MIN. Her site Parenting.com received an ASME nomination for General Excellence; she was named MIN’s Content Strategist of the Year in 2010; and she was inducted into the Digital Hall of Fame in 2011. That same year, she attended President Obama’s White House Summit on Digital Women. Feddersen has made regular appearances as an expert on the TODAY show and Good Morning America, as well as NPR and PBS. She serves as a member of the March of Dimes National Media Advisory Committee. She has an English degree from Amherst College and a masters degree from NYU’s Tisch Interactive Telecommunications Program. She studied Hebrew and Yiddish (along with French, Italian, German, and Spanish), and lived in Israel for a year.
