Jewish Museum Picks Claudia Gould as New Director
Claudia Gould, director of the Institute of Contemporary Art at the University of Pennsylvania, in Philadelphia, has reportedly been picked as the new director of the Jewish Museum in New York.
The New York Times reports that Gould will succeed Joan Rosenbaum, who is retiring after 30 years at the helm of the century-old institution on the Upper East Side of Manhattan.
The selection of Gould, who has spent her career in modern art, reflects the museum’s goal to move in a somewhat new direction following Rosenbaum’s long stay, during which she concentrated on the institution’s traditional focus on Jewish history and culture.
