Jewish Couple Attacked on Upper East Side

A Jewish couple was attacked on the upper East Side of Manhattan by attackers spewing anti-Semitic hatred and flying Palestinian flags, police said.

The thugs set upon the couple in their 20s on E. 63rd St. near Second Ave. around 8 pm on Monday.

The assailants yelled anti-Semitic statements, said sources, and threw a water bottle at the woman. When her husband retaliated against her attack, he was punched in the side of the head. Afterwards, the assailants retreated back to their cars, some of which bore Palestinian flags, according to the New York Post.

Police sources said that the victims might have been targeted because the man was wearing a yarmulke. There have been no arrests as of Tuesday morning, but the investigation is ongoing.
