Congresswoman Ilhan Omar’s controversial remarks catalyzed a national conversation about anti-Semitism, anti-Zionism, and the overlap between them. The questions raised by the brouhaha included how does one define anti-Semitism? Can one talk about AIPAC in a non-anti-Semitic way? What does it mean to be “loyal” to the Jewish people or Israel? Can you oppose the existence of Israel within any borders and not be anti-Semitic? What American political party should Jews support more when anti-Semitism can be found on both sides?

Here to discuss these questions are Senior Columnist Peter Beinart and renowned historian Deborah Lipstadt.
