Monday’s Shmooze Celebrity Roundup

Esquire has named Mila Kunis the Sexiest Woman Alive. As we all know, she is currently attached (to boyfriend Ashton Kutcher), but that will surely not stop many an oogler from watching Esquire’s video of her.

Jennifer Garner may be starring in the movie “Butter” right now, but that doesn’t stop her from imagining herself eventually getting back to stage acting. What role would she like to play one day? Fruma Sarah in “Fiddler on the Roof.” Yes, you read that correctly.

And speaking of theater, Paul Rudd showed some serious chest hair during his curtain call on opening night of his new Broadway show, “Grace.”

We admit we didn’t see this one coming: Lena Dunham tweeted: “For better or worse, the Carly Rae Jepsen album expresses a lot of my hard-to-verbalize impressions of love.” Huh.

Feeling nostalgic for those college days? Well, Zoe Lister-Jones recounts (with the aid of animation, no less) how, when she was 18, she met her crush, Jimmy Fallon. Aside from her and Fallon, the embarrassing episode also involved Matthew Broderick, Amy Sedaris… and a sailor hat.

Well, it’s about time. Mel Brooks, 86, will receive the American Film Institute’s Lifetime Achievement Award in Los Angeles next June. Three of his earlier films, “The Producers,” “Blazing Saddles” and “Young Frankenstein” rank among the top 15 films on AFI’s “100 Years … 100 Laughs” list.

Forget the Real Housewives. Now you can watch (well, you can if you are in the UK), a new TV show in which eight women vie for the title of “Jewish Mum of the Year.” The first episode, titled “Bar Mitzvah” is set to air Oct. 9.

J.J. Abrams gave Conan O’Brien an exclusive sneak peek at “Star Trek Into Darkness.” Don’t get too excited — it’s just three frames long. According to Abrams, it’s “Spock in a volcano in a crazy suit.” We missed it, because we blinked — so, we’ll just have to believe him.

Jim Lehrer has a friend in Barbara Walters. While others gave Lehrer a rough time for how he moderated last week’s presidential debate, Walters, who had the very same gig in 1976 and 1984, showed some sympathy.

And speaking of the presidential debate, its apparent winner declined several invitations to appear on David Letterman’s show. No problem — Matthew Broderick graciously agreed to appear instead… as Mitt Romney.

Gwyneth Paltrow may only turn 40 once, but that doesn’t mean she can’t celebrate the milestone over and over. Following the intimate birthday getaway to Italy with hubby Chris Martin we told you about last week, she held a big bash in New York this past Friday night. Guests included Steve Spielberg, Beyonce, Chelsea Handler, Cameron Diaz, Kristen Wiig, Jake Gyllenhaal, and of course, Paltrow’s mom, Blythe Danner.

The latest celebrity wedding: David Cross and Amber Tamblyn. It’s the first marriage for the 48-year-old groom and the 29-year-old bride.

ScarJo, in a sweater set, short blond wig and thickly penciled eyebrows, channels Janet Leigh in Hitchcock. The upcoming movie is about famous director Alfred Hitchcock’s life around the time he filmed “Psycho.”

Seal apparently missed his chance to dine at Jezebel, the hot new kosher Soho restaurant. The singer called for reservations on Yom Kippur, not realizing that it would be closed that day. By the time Jezebel co-owner Henry Stimler turned on his phone to check messages after the holiday, Seal had already left town. Better luck next time.

Not surprisingly, according to Jewish news outlets, the highlight of Jon Stewart and Bill O’Reilly’s “Rumble in the Air-Conditioned Auditorium” ersatz presidential debate last Saturday was O’Reilly’s suggestion that Barack and Michelle Obama go out on a double date with Benjamin and Sara Netanyahu. Heck, the way things are going with peace in the Middle East, it’s worth a shot.
