Stanley Kubrick’s Daughter Debunks Ridiculous Moon Landing Conspiracy Theory

The same week that NASA’s Juno rover neared Jupiter’s orbit, Stanley Kubrick’s daughter finally addressed the decades-old conspiracy theory that her father helped orchestrate and film the moon landing.
In what would have been an EGOT worthy feat, theorists believe the United States government tapped the storied director behind “2001: A Space Odyssey” and “The Shining” to fake the 1969 Apollo 11 moon landing. There have even been films based on the theory. That sounds like a fun afternoon adventure.
Citing it as a good time to address the rumors, Vivian Kubrick wrote, “There are many, very real conspiracies that have happened throughout our history…. But, claims that the moon landings were faked and filmed by my father? I just can’t understand it!!?”

Vivian Kubrick, a composer and filmmaker by her own right, worked with her father on “The Shining” and “Full Metal Jacket.” She expressed her irritation at the long standing theory, “My love for my father notwithstanding, I actually knew him! I lived and worked with him, so forgive my harshness when I state categorically: the so called ‘truth’ these malicious cranks persist in forwarding — that my father conspired with the US Government to ‘fake the moon landings’ — is manifestly A GROTESQUE LIE.”
