Zac Efron Surprises Simone Biles at Rio Olympics — With a Kiss!

Reigning Team USA Olympics queen Simone Biles — well, queen in land-based sports; we have to make room on the throne for our girl Katie Ledecky — has won four golds and one bronze in Rio. Her mind-blowing gymnastic ability and poise has also won her the hearts of Americans across the country.
Among them? Zac Efron. Yesterday, the actor surprised Biles and the rest of the USA Women’s Gymnastic Team in Rio after being a vocal fan all week. (“Of course I’m watching the #FinalFive” he tweeted on August 10, posing in front of a poster of the team.) He made the most of the opportunity, hefting Biles in the air and then, as the two posed for a pic, surprising her with a kiss, which Biles shared on Twitter.

It was an especially exciting moment given Biles’s well-documented love for Efron. Earlier this month, Biles led NBC’s Stephanie Gosk around her home in Spring, Texas; the highlight of the tour — and, in Gosk’s words, the most alarming part of it — was Biles revealing the life-size Efron cutout she keeps in her bedroom. “Sometimes I used to kiss him on the cheek,” she confessed. (“OK, you realize that’s a little strange, right?” Gosk responded, to which Biles countered, unabashed, “Yeah.”) After yesterday, the cut-out has some pretty daunting real-life competition.

Biles isn’t the only member of the Final Five Efron has been lucky enough to befriend; early Wednesday morning, he shared plans to get pizza with Aly Raisman. Please, guys, save a piece for us.
