The New ‘Pitch Perfect 3’ Trailer Is Here – And Ben Platt Is Nowhere To Be Found
You might want to ask your mom to sit down because I’ve got some terrible news: the long-awaited “Pitch Perfect 3” trailer dropped on Saturday and it’s missing her top pick to play the role of your next boyfriend.
That’s right – ‘Pitch Perfect 3’ will not feature nice Jewish boy, Benjamin Platt.
Of course, who has time for a cappella when you’re busy starring as the lead in Broadway’s hottest musical and winning the industry’s top award for your work? Platt’s plate is ultra-full at the moment and his surreptitious absence in the franchise’s third film is not surprising.
The film will, however, bring back Hailee Steinfeld, Anna Kendrick, and Rebel Wilson as new college graduates who simply can’t bring themselves to accept a life without a cappella. In the third film, the Bellas enters a talent contest and, once again, the stakes are high – except this time they’ll be competing against groups that use … drumroll, please … instruments.

Elizabeth Banks will also be back and Ruby Rose of “Orange Is The New Black” fame will be making her ‘Pitch Perfect’ debut as the Bellas’ instrument-laden competition.
