Theater That Hosted Ladies-Only Screening Of ‘Wonder Woman’ To Host Clown-Only Screening Of ‘It’
Are you a clown? Are you hoping to enjoy a screening of Stephen King’s “It” in a space free from insensitive comments about “those dang clowns that keep chasing tourists through the New York City subway system”?
Then you’re in luck! The same theater that made headlines —and drew the ire of Men’s Right’s groups — for daring to host a ladies-only screening of “Wonder Woman” is extending the same courtesy to Austin’s clown community.
The Alamo Drafthouse in Austin, Texas announced Thursday that it would be hosting a screening of the positively terrifying clown-based horror remake of “It”… but don’t bother showing up if you’re not in full on clown garb.
The description on the theater’s website reads:
For this special screening of IT, all attendees should arrive dressed as a clown in order to attend. Please arrive early and join us in the Barrel O’ Fun beginning at 5:30pm for an IT pre-party where we will have face-painters available for clown “touch-ups”, a photo booth, raffles for prizes, and other terrifying merriment. Please arrive in your own Pennywise best and be ready to float with us.
No Men’s Rights groups have, as of yet, spoken out against the clown-only screening but if I know Men’s Rights groups (and trust me, I know Men’s Rights groups), it’s only a matter of time before they come with their pitchforks demanding that men be included in this clowns-only jamboree.
As the old adage goes, #NotAllMen, #YesAllWomen, #DefinitelyAllClowns.
