It’s A Halloween Miracle! ‘Hocus Pocus’ Is Getting A Remake
Praise be to the demons below for they have delivered the most precious gift of all: a remake of the 1993 Halloween classic “Hocus-Pocus.”
Deadline reports that the Disney Channel is starting production on the retelling of my personal favorite cinematic feature about witches. “Hocus-Pocus” tells the story of a young male virgin who tries to impress a girl by lighting a cursed candle that brings to life three witches, played by Sarah Jessica Parker, Kathy Najimy, and Bette Midler. This witchy dream team sets off on a mission to destroy the virgin’s life before the sunrise casts them once again into the underworld. It’s a tale for the ages and by far the best role Sarah Jessica Parker has ever played.
The remake will be written by Scarlett Lacey (“The Royals”) and produced by David Kirshner, who was on the original’s production team and has since produced movies such as “Curious George” and “An American Tail.” There is no news yet as to whether or not the remake, like the original, will feature two Jewish witches but there’s no denying that Hollywood is filled with Jewish women who would be perfect for those roles, including but not limited to Mila Kunis, Natalie Portman, and Amy Schumer.
In fact, now that we think about it, maybe they should go for three out of three Jewish witches this time around.
