‘A Series Of Unfortunate Events’ Trailer Drops Amid Lemony Snicket Woes

The season two trailer for “A Series of Unfortunate Events” dropped Wednesday, only weeks after author Daniel Handler, better known as Lemony Snicket, was accused by multiple women of making inappropriate sexual comments to them.
The popular book series was turned into a television show by Netflix and stars Neil Patrick Harris as the evil Count Olaf whose sole purpose in life is to destroy the Baudelaire orphans. The trailer promises a season of more misfortune for these poor, innocent children.
Meanwhile, Handler is dealing with some misfortune himself. The children’s author was supposed to give the Wesleyan University commencement speech but dropped out after students protested. He will be replaced by Anita Hill.
Handler was accused by multiple female children’s authors of making inappropriate jokes and sexual comments in professional environments. He issued an apology in the comment section of the blog where the initial allegations were made, writing that he too had been “a victim” of sexual abuse.
Handler has not been accused of a crime.
