Facebook Is Creating A ‘Spoilers’ Snooze Button

Whether the game is on during your meeting or “Game of Thrones” is on too late for you, you’ll soon be able to game the system — Facebook is experimenting with a function that will hide “spoilers” from your newsfeed. The social media sight is testing out code that will allow users to select specific keywords — anything from “world cup results” to “Bachelorette eliminations” to “President Donald Trump” — for up to 30 days.
It will also work for people who want to rid their Facebook of upsetting or triggering content (yes, this is real, and no, it shouldn’t matter to you if other people want to do this,) perhaps making the social media site a safer place for people with PTSD. A small group of users is getting the feature today, with plans to implement it site-wide likely in the next few weeks.
Spoiler alert warnings, begone.
