ORT America is the American branch of World ORT, an international network of schools and vocational training programs for both Jews and non-Jews. ORT America operates technical colleges in New York, Chicago and Los Angeles, and runs a resource center for Jewish educators in Michigan. ORT America also supports the work of World ORT, which operates in more than 60 countries and serves over 200,000 students each year.

As national executive director of ORT America, Alan Klugman leads major fundraising efforts and seeks to raise ORT America’s philanthropic profile. Prior to his appointment at ORT America, Klugman served as the executive vice president of the Jewish Federation of Palm Springs and Desert Area in California and associate executive director of the Jewish Community Federation of Louisville, Ky. Klugman graduated from Connecticut College and earned his master’s in social work from the Wurzweiler School of Social Work. He lived in Israel for eight years and is fluent in Hebrew.
