Magen David Adom is Israel’s national emergency medical, disaster, ambulance and blood bank service. Since it was founded in 1930 as a volunteer organization, MDA has expanded to become a nationwide emergency service provider, and is now a Red Cross member organization. The American Friends of MDA serves as one of its major philanthropic arms, and has helped raise funds for everything from medical supplies to ambulances.

Arnold Gerson previously served as the executive vice president of Amit, and the executive director of the UJA-Federation New York’s Annual Campaign. He received his master’s in industrial psychology from Bar-Ilan University in Israel.
