ORT America is the American branch of World ORT, an international network of schools and vocational training programs for both Jews and non-Jews. ORT America operates technical colleges in New York, Chicago and Los Angeles, and runs a resource center for Jewish educators in Michigan. ORT America also supports the work of World ORT, which operates in more than 60 countries and serves over 200,000 students each year.

Martin Greenberg is the executive director of ORT America. He is known for bringing transformative change to nonprofits, and for a history of success reenergizing Jewish organizations. Having grown up in a city housing project in the Bronx, he is particularly sensitive to the work ORT does to educate and empower those who are trying to raise themselves to a better life. He has a master’s degree in social work from Yeshiva University and has worked in many different areas of the not-for-profit world, as a family therapist, running a center for disabled adults and fundraising for the Anti-Defamation League in New York.
