Adele’s ‘Hello’ Gets a Hanukkah Parody, Because Obviously
It was only a matter of time before someone realized that Adele’s recent hit “Hello” would take very, very well to a makeover as “Shalom.”
Comedian Ari Blau has given us that makeover, complete with unrepentantly flat singing, more applesauce than anyone in their right mind would feel comfortable with, and some surprised-looking grocery store shoppers stumbling upon Blau, his leading lady, and an anonymous man in a dreidel costume pirouetting through the store : “Shalom from the Kosher aisle.”
While we can’t totally condone playing human dreidel — the casualties, people! — if someone were inclined to send me a dreidel costume in advance of the Forward’s holiday party, I’d be thrilled. (Dress code be damned.) Happy viewing, and happy Hanukkah.
