Earlier this month, Duolingo added Yiddish to its list of languages, and thousands have already signed up. Meet the team of Yiddish mavens who worked for five years bringing the mameloshn to the popular language learning app.
Forverts editor Rukhl Schaechter will speak to Myra Awodey, Duolingo’s Lead Community Specialist; Meena Viswanath, civil engineer and creator of the Forverts crossword puzzles, and Levi Polasak and Libby Pollak, former Hasidim who helped contribute to the project, on how they created the course and what they’ve learned so far since launching the Yiddish version.
