How To Protect Jews Without Sacrificing Our Freedoms
Over the past several months, major Jewish organizations have become increasingly alarmed that the important cause of fighting antisemitism has been misappropriated by the federal government to undermine our liberal democratic society — civil rights, free speech, inclusive society – as well as attacking higher education. This authoritarianism, when combined with its white supremacy, invariably leads to discrimination against women and minorities, including Jews.
Our distinguished panel will discuss the key aspects of defining what is and is not antisemitism, including its use in dealing with anti-Israel protests on college campuses, elimination of DEI programs and offices of civil rights, and cancelling funding for universities.
Our panel includes Rabbi David Saperstein, former Director of the Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism and former U.S. Ambassador-at-Large for International Religious Freedom; Judith Lichtman, attorney, life-long leader in advocating for women’s rights, and a founder of Emily’s List; and Arno Rosenfeld, an enterprise reporter for the Forward with a focus on antisemitism and its relationship to activism against Israel.
A reception will follow for in-person attendees. Livestream information will be sent via confirmation email.
