A foiled bomb plot and an Imam-led walkout: Forward Grid 12/3

The Forward Grid allows an incident to be plotted along two axes that show whether — and to what extent — it was directed toward Jews as a group, and how serious a threat it poses on a spectrum from “dangerous” to “overblown.” It’s intended to help make sense of the deluge of potentially antisemitic incidents you hear about in the news and to provide a framework for thinking about Jewish safety that goes beyond “antisemitic” and “not.”

Arno Rosenfeld, the author of Antisemitism Decoded, includes a Forward Grid in each edition of the newsletter featuring his judgement of where various recent incidents belong. Now you can fill out your own version of the grid and see where others believe each incident belongs.

Simply read the summary of the incident below (clicking on the link at the end for more information) and then click on the grid where you believe the incident belongs. Once you’re done, select “See Results” to compare your response to everyone else’s and access the next incident.
