It doesn’t look like the NJDC-RJC grudge match is ending anytime soon. As we reported in our pages last week, the two Jewish partisan groups have been arguing for weeks about which party is better on Israel.
Now, Ira Forman, the executive director of the National Jewish Democratic Council, is challenging Republican Jewish Coalition executive director Matt Brooks to a face-to-face debate.
Yesterday, Forman faxed Brooks a letter suggesting an event on Thursday, November 2, at the JCC in Washington, D.C. According to Forman, when the pair spoke on the phone, Brooks insisted that he is busy that night – and every other night before Election Day – and can’t send anyone else instead.
“I said Matt, I’m going to chase you around on this,” Forman told the Forward. “They’ve got charges and they have a lot of money to back it up. I don’t understand why they can’t find someone, sometime to stand up and debate us.”
