Forverts Seeks More Stories About Your Favorite Heirlooms

Earlier this year, the Forverts asked readers to submit anecdotes and photos of their favorite heirlooms.
Heirlooms are not only a way of keeping us connected to our past; they are also a wonderful way to transmit family history to our children and grandchildren
The response to our search was an enthusiastic one and 22 of those stories were published, in Yiddish and English, both on the website and in the printed edition of the Forverts. Next month, these stories will appear in the Forward magazine as well.
As a result, the Forverts has launched a new blog, Our Favorite Heirlooms where readers can find all the fascinating stories and photos in one spot.
Due to popular demand, the Forverts is now seeking more stories about our readers’ favorite heirlooms. The object could be a cherished piece of jewelry, a ritual object, an old photo, a book with a handwritten dedication or anything else that is precious to you.
Email us a paragraph or two, telling your story of the heirloom, either in Yiddish or English, accompanied by a high-resolution photo. Write “Heirlooms” in the subject line and send it to [email protected].
