Forward Editor-in-Chief Jodi Rudoren joins Rabbi Yoshi Zweiback in conversation about the Oct. 7 attack on Israel, its aftermath and the critical role of independent Jewish journalism.

Jodi Rudoren has been editor-in-chief of the Forward since 2019. She is a veteran reporter, editor and digital innovator who spent more than two decades at The New York Times, including nearly four years as the Jerusalem bureau chief. During the crisis Jodi has appeared on CNN, MSNBC and other news outlets. She is also a contributor to the new anthology of essays by noteworthy Jewish leaders, Jewish Priorities: Sixty-five proposals for the future of our people.
Rabbi Yoshi Zweiback, senior rabbi of Stephen Wise Temple since 2015, graduated from Princeton University in 1991 and was ordained as a rabbi by the Hebrew Union College Jewish Institute of Religion in 1998. He trained as a Jewish educator at HUC’s Los Angeles campus, where he received a M.A. in Jewish Education. Rabbi Yoshi is a lecturer at Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion in Los Angeles, and a Senior Rabbinic Fellow of the Shalom Hartman Institute in Jerusalem. He is also the volunteer Executive Director and Founder of Kavod, a non-profit tzedakah collective which is dedicated to protecting human dignity.
