American Development Expert Kidnapped in Pakistan
An American development expert was kidnapped at gunpoint in Pakistan, officials said Saturday.
The U.S. Embassy in Pakistan identified the victim as Warren Weinstein, and said he works for an Arlington, Va. agency. He was said to be in his 60s.
Weinstein was snatched by gunmen Saturday who pistol-whipped him and his driver, and tied his guards after getting past security by posing as neighbors offering food for the holy month of Ramadan, CNN reported.
There was no word on a possible motive for the kidnapping.
