Egypt Recalls Israel Ambassador Over Police Deaths
Egypt said it would recall its ambassador to Israel over the accidental killing of three Egyptian police officers during Thursday’s terrorist attack.
The Egyptian Cabinet said it was pulling the envoy until Israel conducts a probe into what it called “indiscriminate shelling” that led to the deaths, according to a statement on its website, CNN reported.
The move comes after Israel blamed Egypt for allowing lawlessness in the Sinai Desert along their shared border.
Israel claims the terrorists who killed eight Israelis on Thursday came from Gaza by way of the Sinai.
Since the terror attacks, Israel has mounted retaliatory strikes on Gaza, and Palestinians have fired rockets into Israel.
