Iran-Backed Terror Group Plans Turkey Attacks
A secret Iranian network of assassins is under orders to attack Jewish, Israeli and Western targets in Turkey, Sky News is reporting, citing intelligence sources.
The organization behind the attack is called Unit 400, a secret wing of Islamic Jihad’s al-Quds Brigades, under the direct command of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Sky reported over the weekend.
“Unit 400 of the Quds Force has been developing in the last few months a standing operating procedure for carrying out an attack in Turkey against western targets as well as Israeli and Jewish,” an intelligence source told Sky News. “It is our firm assessment that these procedures are in a very advanced stage, and that the intention is to act on the plans very soon.”
A document obtained by Sky News also suggests that Unit 400 is behind the car bomb attack in New Delhi that injured the wife of an Israeli diplomat, as well as attempted attacks in the Georgian capital of Tbilisi and Thailand.
Attacks on Israeli targets have occurred in recent years in Turkey, including last year when six Turkish civilians were hurt during an attack on the Israeli Consulate in Istanbul blamed on Unit 400.
