Bahrain Appoints Jewish Woman to Top Post
The legislature in Bahrain has appointed a Jewish female parliamentarian to serve as deputy chairwoman of the foreign affairs, defense and national security committee.
Nancy Khedouri, the third Jewish Bahraini to be appointed to the upper chamber of Bahrain’s legislature, was selected on Sunday by her fellow lawmakers to serve in the position, according to the Gulf News.
Bahrain’s ambassador to the United States, Houda Nonoo, a former member of the 40-member upper house of the legislature called the Shura Council, also is a Jewish woman.
