Disgraced ex-congressman Anthony Weiner called 2011 his ?best year? as he carried out a sit-down interview flanked by his wife and their baby boy.
The scandal-tarred lawmaker, who was forced to resign over inappropriate text messages to women, insisted he was a changed man and pooh-poohed reports he plans to return to politics in the interview with People magazine.
?I?m very happy in my present life,? Weiner, 47, told the magazine. ?The only next dramatic steps I?m planning on are Jordan?s first,? he says, referring to his 6-month-old son.
In his first joint interview with wife Huma Abedin, a top aide to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, the couple said they struggled to overcome Weiner?s humiliating fall from power
?It took a lot of work to get to where are are today, but I want people to know we?re a normal family,? said Abedin, 37.
The interview came days after the New York Post claimed Weiner was plotting a political comeback. He slammed that report, but the paper says he is hoping to run for New York City mayor in 2013.
