Israeli Airport Employees Threatening Shabbat Strike
Employees at Israel’s Ben Gurion International Airport said they will hold a Shabbat strike.
The 25-hour work stoppage from Friday evening until Saturday night would affect 200 departing flights and 30,000 passengers. Flights will arrive at the airport as scheduled, according to reports.
The strike, which would come during the height of the Israeli travel season, is part of a protest over limiting the hiring of contract workers at the airport. Negotiations over the issue are stalled.
