Woman Stabbed at Amsterdam Kosher Restaurant

AMSTERDAM (JTA) — A woman was lightly wounded in a stabbing incident at a kosher restaurant in the Dutch capital.
The woman was wounded in her arm Monday at Grand Café Rimon in Amsterdam, the local television AT5 reported. Police arrested the assailant, telling AT5 they had no indication the attack was a hate crime.
The incident occurred after nine p.m. The suspect is believed to have bought the knife at a nearby supermarket. The woman was taken to the hospital, where the stab wound was treated. People who witnessed the attack detained the man until police arrived, the news site NH reported.
Police were not immediately willing to say whether they believe the suspect and the victim knew each other before the incident.
Grand Café Rimon is located in the southern Amsterdam neighborhood of Buitenveldert, where several thousand Jews live.
