Ted Koppel To Sean Hannity: You’re ‘Bad For America’
([JTA](http://www.jta.org ” “JTA”)) — Longtime newscaster Ted Koppel told Fox News host Sean Hannity in an interview that he and other opinionated TV hosts are “bad for America.”
The 77-year-old former “Nightline” host, born to German-Jewish parents who fled to England during the rise of the Nazis, delivered the searing dis during a segment on CBS’ “Sunday Morning” show.
“Do you think we’re bad for America? You think I’m bad for America?” Hannity asked.
“Yeah,” Koppel answered calmly.
Hannity tried to cut Koppel’s comments short, calling his answer “sad.”
“You have attracted people who are determined that ideology is more important than facts,” Koppel said.
After it aired, Hannity lambasted CBS as “Fake Edited News” for only showing a few minutes of his 45-minute talk with Koppel during the segment.
“Fake Edited News” @CBSNews release the Unedited 45 minute interview so people can see the BS games you play in the edit room. I dare you! https://t.co/prynzE2yLQ
