Their rivalry is a secret to no one: Though they both occupy top positions at the White House, Steve Bannon, Trump’s chief strategist, and Jared Kushner, the president’s senior advisor and son-in-law, have opposed views on every possible issue. Case in point: Bannon is calling Kushner a “cuck” and a “globalist” behind his back, The Daily Beast reported.
“Cuck” is the shortened version of ‘cuckservative,’ a racially and sexually charged neologism that was popularized by far-right supporters to deride conservatives who supposedly abandoned their true values.
Frequently used by nationalist movements in Europe and the U.S. to denounce the free-market economy, the term “globalist” has also come under fire for at times carrying anti-Semitic tones, the Daily Beast writes.
In a closing television ad broadcasted three days before the presidential election, the Trump campaign lashed out at “the establishment”, “those who control the levers of power in Washington” and the “global special interests.” As the narration went on, the video clip featured images of investor and philanthropist George Soros, Federal Reserve chair Janet Yellen and Goldman Sachs CEO Lloyd Blankfein, three high-profile Jewish figures.
The ADL and other Jewish groups accused the ad of resorting to anti-Semitic themes.
