Top RJC Donor Sought $75 Million To End U.S. Probe Of Malaysian Businessman

A top donor to the Republican Jewish Coalition and the Trump presidential campaign may have sought to use his political ties to help get a Malaysian businessman out of a federal corruption investigation, The Wall Street Journal reported Thursday.
New York investor Elliot Broidy and his wife, Robin Rosenzweig, exchanged emails discussing a potential consulting contract with businessman Jho Low, in which the couple would help end a U.S. investigation into a scandal involving Low and Malaysian prime minister Najib Razak. In return, Broidy was interested in receiving a $75 million consulting fee.
The deal did not materialize, and a lawyer for Broidy said that “at no time” did Broidy or Rosenzweig discuss the case with Trump, his staff, or the Justice Department.
