Ivanka Maintains Public Silence On Family Separation — Warns Trump Policy Looks Bad

The Trump administration’s immigrant family separation policy has led to strong condemnations from across the political spectrum — even including a statement of concern from First Lady Melania Trump.
But so far, First Daughter Ivanka Trump has been silent, even though she reportedly warned her father that the policy is a political disaster.
Trump tells House Republicans now that Ivanka talked to him about family separation at the border and that the images are not good.

Meghan McCain brought up Ivanka Trump on “The View” Tuesday morning to ask where she’s been on the issue of family separation at the border.
McCain pointed out that all four living former first ladies have joined Melania Trump in expressing horror at children separated from their parents at the U.S.-Mexico border. But Ivanka Trump has yet to comment.
“Where is Ivanka in all of this? Because she’s all for women and mothers and she has a White House role and a job,” McCain said. “And I’m sort of interested that her whole platform has been women and mothers and she doesn’t have anything to say about this.”
Twitter has been abuzz with similar backlash.

.@IvankaTrump, your silence is DEAFENING in light of your father’s horrific policy that’s ripping innocent children from the arms of their parents and putting them in cages. You’re a damn hypocrite!! #TrumpsKidnappingChildren #TrumpConcentrationCamps #KeepFamiliesTogether

Ivanka Trump just put out a statement: “When I said that I cared about children, I thought we all understood that I meant *white* children. In retrospect, I should have been more specific.”
