The Forward’s Printable Newsletter: For Readers Who Want To Unplug On Shabbat
The Forward has a new newsletter designed to be printed, read and discussed over Shabbat.
Every Friday morning, Forward editors curate a roundup of some of the week’s best stories into a printable newsletter, ensuring those who observe Shabbat, the Jewish day of rest (which prohibits the use of technology), can keep up with the latest news and cultural happenings.
This newsletter was inspired by loyal readers who have long enjoyed perusing the Forward in its printed edition, first as a newspaper, then as a magazine. After the magazine’s last edition, in April, we began hearing from people who missed the physical reading experience — and from others who lamented not being able to consult the Forward from sunset Friday to sunset Saturday.
With the Shabbat newsletter, you can print Forward articles at home, in a format designed for easy reading and without any of the bits and pieces that show up when you print directly from the web.
For the non-observant, the newsletter is presents an opportunity to unplug and give your corneas a rest while still staying up-to-date on Jewish news, culture and opinions. For those keeping Shabbat, welcome back to your weekly Forward tradition.
