Fox News Airs Anti-Semitic Soros-Migrant Conspiracy Theory

WASHINGTON (JTA) — “Fox and Friends,” the popular morning show on the conservative Fox News Channel, aired a theory that the Jewish billionaire George Soros is funding illegal migration to the United States.
The theory, aired in the past by President Donald Trump and the perpetrators of deadly attacks and attempted attacks on Jewish targets — including Soros, a liberal philanthropist and Holocaust survivor — is considered anti-Semitic. “Fox and Friends” is one of Trump’s favorite shows.
Media Matters for America, a liberal watchdog, posted a transcript of right-wing provocateur Michelle Malkin’s appearance on the show on Monday.
“It would be one thing if it was easy to just say it’s George Soros, and there’s a whole entire chapter there about him supporting, what I call, the illegal alien lawyers lobby,” Malkin said, referring to a new book she is peddling.
Soros’ Open Society funds a number of groups that provide legal counseling to migrants facing deportation and seeking asylum.
Malkin, without evidence, characterized one of the Soros-funded groups, CASA de Maryland, as “basically human smugglers and human traffickers that pose as charities. And they go around and undermine the support for the men and women who put their lives on the line to enforce the law.”
